Landed in LA
Thou has landed. Hooray. I landed at 2:30pm, it's now 5:50pm. The flight was pretty good all in all. I got a window seat and a nice American lady sitting next to me. Actually, she was in the isle seat. We got really lucky, there was a spare seat in between us. Considering it was a full flight that was quite the score. It took a long time to get through customs and security at LAX. They are so uptight and scary there. There are new regulations for flying to the US now, there was double security when I left Auckland, my home town. And you have to be at the gate ready to board a ridiculous amount of time before the plane actually leaves. Anyway, my flight was at the perfect time. 9:30pm it departed. I was so tired from running around doing last minute errands all day, then I took my sleeping pill just before I boarded. They served dinner soon after we took off, I got butter chicken. I was shocked, it was so yummy! But by this time I was kinda drugged up so I spilt a lot of it on my blanket without realizing. I was pissed that it took them so long to turn the lights off, I was ready to sleep. And it was already 12am. I was drifting in and out of consciousness until the lights went off and I was out. I slept uncomfortably for about 6 hours. I watched the movie "It's Complicated" which was hilarious. And this New Zealand show called "The Jacqui Brown Diaries". Good stuff. I was counting down the time until we landed, I love watching the air show. I like to know exactly how many minutes we have left and what the local times in NZ and LA are. So yeah, the flight was pretty good. Oh except just one thing I must bitch about - I didn't get a little pack with socks and a little tooth brush and tooth paste. What gives? My feet were cold and my teeth were....not happy. Luckily I had some really strong mints. Ems and her mom weren't at the airport when I landed but they got there soon after. Ems had school and horse riding. It was great to see them, I've missed them a lot. We got Carl's Jr. on the way home, we were all starving. I didn't eat breakfast on the plane. Carl's Jr. is like....McDonalds & Burger King etc...but better. Now we are back at the house. My eye lids feel heavy. But at least it's already 6pm so I will be asleep at their bed time...in NZ it's only early afternoon. We're having a roast dinner yum yum. That's all for now...

LOL I love the airshow as well. On my first trip to LA I actually took photots of it :D I love watching that little plane get closer and closer... hehe. Glad you arrived safely! I remember being there in May it was warm but they get that kinda vaguely gloomy marine layer over for a few weeks then it really brightens up!
ReplyDeleteYeah!! for our Brooke. Congrats on arriving on time, although slopped butter chicken all over the shirt is perhaps not a good look for representing clean green nz. PS Your sister is now desperately trying to make moonboot's incredibly cool with only i crutch needed now
ReplyDeleteHaha Kim I love it just as much, best thing the airlines ever introduced. I look forward to the temperature getting hotter. Graham it's all good, I got butter chicken on the blanket not my clothes. Oh, one small step for man, one giant leap for Sacha
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you arrived safely Brookie!! Missing you, look forward to hearing about all your adventures :-) :-) xxxxxxx
